
About the Trainer




Lauren Coates is a certified, professional dog trainer who graduated from the Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training and Behavior in 2022. She is a professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers as well as a professional member of the Alliance of Modern Pet Professionals—Pittsburgh. Lauren has been working with dogs for the majority of her life in many different ways including shelter work, dog sitting, agility, and training. She has a passion for dogs and a passion for helping owners find simple and humane solutions for their dogs.

Lauren puts a lot of emphasis on continued education and strives to continually educate herself on the latest studies and research being done around dog training and behavior through in-person seminars, webinars, conferences, books, and online classes. This ensures that her methods stay up-to-date so she can offer quality training services.

Lauren shares her life with three dogs: Rosie, Charlie, and Everest. All three dogs have earned titles in AKC Trick Dog. Rosie has also been highly successful in agility and has earned numerous titles competing in AKC agility trials. Though she is now retired from agility, Rosie is still very active with training and frequently assists with reactive dog clients, as well as assisting Lauren with educational speaking opportunities at schools and other events.
